But, not many people know that Duri also has a green and hidden natural place. This place is called Hutan Talang (or Hutan Talang Duri). Hutan Talang is located on Jalan Lingkar, Kelurahan Talang Mandi, Kecamatan Mandau, Kota Duri, Kabupaten Bengkalis, Riau. This forest is part of Suaka Margasatwa Balai Raja. Long ago, in 1986, the size of this protected forest was about 15,000–18,000 hectares. But today, only 200–350 hectares of natural forest still remain. Even if the size is small now, it is still very important for nature. The forest is a real tropical rainforest. The trees are tall and green.
